Observe small animal caseload including office appointments, clinical techniques, administration of x-rays, handling of prescription medications, dental and surgery. Observation of surgeries will include such processes as anesthesia, prepping for surgery, and post surgical monitoring.
Lake Animal Hospital is staffed by four full-time veterinarians, two veterinary technicians and multiple support staff. We employ digital x-ray and a full surgical suite with isofluorane anesthetic.
The student will shadow any of the four fulltime veterinary staff, and/or the veterinary technicians up to 40 hours per week on Monday through Saturday for two consecutive weeks. The student may assist with such things as admission and history, blood draws, x-rays, animal restraint, and discharge of animals after treatment or surgery.
