Description of Elective Experience:
Work and observation in a large mixed animal pracice that includes nine full time veterinarians.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
Support staff of twenty-six. Four to five veterinarians doing small animal medical appoinmentsand surgery between the main hospital and satellite clinic.Three mobile veterinary units doing large animal calls every day. Equipment includes complete laboritories, radiology, and ultrasound at both small animal facilities. The self contained large animal units each have an ultrasound.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
A forth hour week, Monday through Friday. This student has been with us throughout her college career, and she will be supported in learning aspects of private veterinary practice.
