Student should come prepared to roll up their sleeves and jump right in! Hands on experience is so important and we are glad to help provide learning opportunities to students!
You never know what your day will look like. You could be suturing laceration repairs from a dog fight, taking and interpreting radiographs of a dog hit by a car, helping with a C-section, performing dental cleanings, assisting in an orthopedic surgery, and educating owners about the vaccine schedule for their new puppy ... all before noon!
Housing is provided while students are here for Externships. You will stay in a well appointed RV that is nicer than most apartments! House-broken pets are welcome to stay with you, but must be crated while you are not in the RV. Basic kitchen supplies are provided, as well as bedding and bathroom towels.
