Description of Elective Experience:
Immersion in all clinical activities associated with a busy small animal veterinary practice. Experiences would include exposure to medicine cases and surgical procedures, as well as, work-up of/rounding on specific cases from presentation to treatment plan/implentation and follow-up where feasible.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
Surigical/Dental Suite, Ultrasound, Digital Radiography, Blood Chemistry/CBC Analyzers, etc.
Experienced veterinary and support staff.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Expected 6-8 hours/day for 4-5 days/week, with shadowing and/or hands-on experience depending on students capabilities/willingnes and whether particular experiences are safe and appropriate for student and patient(s).
