Description of Elective Experience:
Student will assist in small animal surgery and interact with clients. See well patients and participate in cases. Some large animal experience as the clinic sits on the family cattle farm and January is calving month so there could be some cattle work. Mostly small animal though.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
20 staff members including 4 full time veterinarians.
Surgical laser, dental machine, in-house cbc chemistry, urinalysis, ultrasound, therapeudic laser
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Student can work as many hours as they like. The clinic is open 8-4:30 Monday - Friday and half day Saturday. They will be expected to take part in everything we do and we will be asking for students input as well.
