Description of Elective Experience: 

Will include exposure to a vast array of equine cases. Our specialties include internal medicine and surgery as well as general practice and a busy emergency caseload. Students will be involved in all aspects of evaluation and management of cases and will get lots of hands-on experiences if they are engaged and participate in the program.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

Fully staffed with technicians and assistants both day and night (24/7)

Digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy, nuclear scintigraphy, standing MRI, two surgery suites, isolation facilities

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

We expect students to participate and engage in clinical discussion during didactic sessions once per week and during daily rounds. We recommend students stay on site to get the most out of our emergency caseload as well. 

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info): 

Basic on site accommodations available at no cost, pets can stay in kennels on site, community kitchen and refrigerator available with microwave, but no other cooking amenities.
