Animal Medical Clinic of Peachtree City, GA

Description of Elective Experience: 

We are a large small animal hospital in Peachtree City, GA.  Externs are given the opportunity to interact with clients, examine pets, develop diagnoses and treatment plans in conjunction with our licensed veterinarians. There is also the opportunity to assist in surgery and with other procedures. 

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

9 full time veterinarians.  Digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound including echocardiography.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 
  • 40 hours per week (there is flexibility in terms of days)
  • shadowing
  • assisting licensed veterinarians
  • client history, patient exams, formulation of treatment plans
