Description of Elective Experience:
Clinical experience with an experienced team of DVM's and RVT's in a busy primary care pet animal practice.
Preventive care, medical care, surgeries and dental care; hands on experience in all areas.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
6 DVMS, ranging from 2 years to 35 years of practice experience.
7 RVT's
In house laboratory. 2 high speed dental machines. Monitoring anesthesia with ECG, Pulse oximetry, blood pressure. Digital dental radiology. Digital radiology.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Our doctors typical schedule on a given day is 9am to 7pm. We are open 7 days a week. The student will arrange their schedule to suit their needs, and we try to have them here about 40 hours a week. Of course, they are welcome to be in our hospital more than that, to maximize their educational experiences.
