We are a 12 doctor large animal practice located in SE, Wisconsin. We provide routine and emergency veterinary services to farms ranging in size from a couple backyard pets to 3000+ cow dairies. Student externs will spend their time shadowing and learning from one of several of our doctors. Mentored tasks will include, but are not limited to, bovine ultrasound reproduction work, large animal surgery, obstetrics work, and sick animal work.
Clinic will provide mentorship and schedule daily doctor ride-alongs.
Student is expected to be willing to ride-along with mentoring doctors. Some days start early in the morning but have the potential to end earlier in the afternoon. Some days may require 10 hour days of the student. We ask that students request a loaner ultrasound through the company of their chocie. Clinic will provide further information upon agreement of externship.
Student will have the option to house with one of the doctors, or housing will be provided at clinic's expense.
