Haskell Valley Veterinary Clinic is a 5 doctor full service small animal practice. The primary practice is Olean New York and an outpatient satellite Clinic is located in Bradford Pennsylvania. The Courtney will be a rotating in both facilities and spend time with all the doctors and will get the opportunity to experience the services provided. Special interests that she has will be emphasized as possible.
Dr. Richard Payne (Cor79) is the medical director and is certified in animal chiropractic (AVCA) and animal acupuncture (Chi University). he is presently in the clinical trial stages for completing a MS-TCVM degree. Dr. Tane Wiseman (Ross UVM97) has a very strong interests in feline medicine and is active in the AAFP. Dr. Jenny Dahar (COR13) has special interests in internal medicine behavioral medicine, genetics and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Derek Schimp (Penn14) has special interests in internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, ultrasonography. Dr. Colleen Bailey (Pur20)special interests in exotics and small ruminants. Very thorough in house laboratory is available with referral 2 outside Labs when needed . Digital referral for radiographic or cytology consultations are available.
The student will be expected to spend 40 hours in the clinics. More time is available at her interest. Hands-On experience will be provided, with direct supervision, in those areas in which she is comfortable and competent. Interaction with clients will be encouraged. Mentoring by each practitioner she is working with will be encouraged.
The student indicated that she has family in the area and will stay with them. If that is not available housing will be provided .
