Students will have an opportunity to spend time at a non-specialty full service progressive small animal hospital. A wide variety of clinical and surgical cases are seen at our 8-doctor busy practice and students will have the opportunity to fully engage in the practice. Emphasis will be on allowing the student to be an active participant in large scope of appointments ranging from normal wellness exams to critically ill patients. Students will have the ability to enhance their abilities in history taking, physical examination, assessment, treatment, and diagnostic plans. Focus will also be placed on working on good client communication skills. Students will engage with the veterinarian in a variety of surgeries performed in general practice.
With students interested in potential ownership, Dr. Fisher will provide time to discuss the business management side of veterinary medicine. Topics will include purchasing a clinic, basic financials of ownership, HR, and any other areas of student interest.
Fully equipped small animal practice and staffed with typical assortment of licensed veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and csrs.
Typical hours would be starting at 8am and completing the shift around 4-5pm though welcome to stay until we close at 7pm.
