We are a Specialty Hospital and 24-Hour Animal Emergency, with a referral base of more than 200 veterinarians. We have boarded diplomats in Internal Medicine, Emergency/Critical Care, Neurology, Oncology, Surgery, Dermatology, and Canine Rehabilitation.
Specialty equipment includes on site CT and MRI, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, cystoscopy and electrodiagnostics. Round-the-clock care is provided for all our patients through our 24-hour emergency services. We work out of a newly constructed approximately 14,000 square foot facility. We are also deeply committed to environmental sustainability, which is obvious to anyone visiting out practice.
The primary job of the student is to shadow the individuals in their service. This would include the primary doctor, an intern doctor, or a technician. Students are invited to become not only involved in the new appointments, but also the current hospitalized cases as well. Each service and doctor functions a little different and students should discuss their expectation of you early on.
It is our hope that as the student spends more time in our hospital, it will increase their experiences and duties. These opportunities will be made on an individual basis depending on hospital caseload, training opportunities and level of experience.
Students normally shadow with us Monday-Friday, approximately 8am to 6pm. Overnight shifts with Emergency/Critical Care can be accommodated for those requested in advance.
We don't provide housing, however we recommend Airbnb. A number of students have used it with good results
