6 doctor GP small animal practice that is Low Stress Handling Certified and AAFP Cat Friendly Practice Certified. We have a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist and a Certified Veterinary Herbalist on staff who offer integrative medicine consultations. We host 6-8 veterinary student externs per year and have a large caseload of internal medicine, wellness and routine surgical and routine and complicated dentistry cases.
Heavily leverage and well trained technicians/support staff. Complete Idexx in house laboratory including Sedivue, Idexx digital radiology, digital dental radiology, ultrasound, radiosurgery unit, Therapeutic Laser, etc.
Students are expected to shadow a veterinarian in either surgery/dentistry or exam room appointments Monday through Friday 8:30am- 6pm. There is a lunch break each day from 1-2:30. We are open Saturday mornings and students are welcome to shadow Saturday appointments, but this is not required. Students will have the opportunity to practice clinical skills such as venipuncture, ultrasound guided cystocentesis, IV catheter placement, anesthesia induction, intubation, anesthesia monitoring, dental extraction closure, etc.
