Our small animal hospital caters to a wide variety of clients from college aged students to senior citizens. Our facility treats both dogs and cats and offers boarding services as well. While at our practice students would work directly with the veterinarian in examining, diagnosing, and treating animals presented for examinations as well as assisting during surgical procedures. Ultimately the goal of an externship at our facility would be to have the student have direct examination and diagnostic evaluation of patients while the veterinarian would support the student and provide feedback and immediate evaluation of the student's SOAP. Our tight-knit staff loves to educate and learn from one another.
Our facility offers in house diagnostic blood machines, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound for use in fast scans, high speed dental units, full spectrum anesthetic monitoring, in house cytology capabilities, and fluid pumps; We have a dedicated technician team as well as full time customer service representatives many of whom are cross-trained to help in the lab whenever possible. Our facility houses four examination rooms, a surgical suite, and boarding facilities for dogs and cats. We work closely with a local veterinary ER to handle truly emergent cases and to transfer overnight care to, and have specialists about 1 hour away for more complex/intense case needs. Our staff is all fear free certified so we utilize many low stress handling techniques as well as oral sedation appointments for those truly stressed patients. Our hospital runs on appointments with occasional hospitalized patients during the day time hours. Our technician team and doctor love to educate and learn from others.
