The opportunity to observe and participate in all areas of the practice, with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, including:
Patient exams, diagnosis, treatments, vaccinations, and records.
Laboratory procedures, including blood draws, submission, and interpretation.
Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and records.
Assisting in surgery, including being a scrubbed assistant.
Dental procedures, including digital dental radiography
Radiology procedures using digital radiography
Ultrasound imaging
Office operations including client communications, data entry, and accounting of transactions.
Tallmadge Animal Hospital currently has one full time doctor, and an assistant veterinarian who works two days a week.
There are eight assistants and office staff members.
The hospital has met or exceeded AAHA standards since 1968, and has a surgical suite, surgery prep area, a surgery ward, treatment ward, and runs.
Dentals: Full dental unit including high speed and low speed handpiece. Dental endodontic equipment.
Dental Xray unit with digital dental xrays.
Radiology – SoundVet Digital system.
Ultrasound – Simons G50 ultrasound.
Endoscopy – gastroscope, bronchoscope, otoscopic endoscope, 5mm rigid endoscope, 2.7mm rigid endoscope with cystoscope sheath.
High frequency radiosurgery unit with bipolar cautery (Ellman Cynosure 120w)
Tonometer – Tono-Pen AVIA
Laser C02 surgical unit.
Participate in handling and care of patients.
Performing examinations, collecting samples, and administering approved medications.
Assisting in surgery, radiology, ultrasound, and dental procedures.
Maintaining patient records.
Maintain clean environment of hospital and patient area.
Communicate with clients.
Interact with staff members on daily operations.
