Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:

Our current business model consists of one board certified theriogenologist along with three technicians and 1-3 interns depending on the time of year.  We have two locations equipped with breeding stocks along with a lab to perform routine diagnostics and semen analysis.  We have a handbook and guides for common procedures to aid with the learning process.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:

The extern will be immersed into our program and should anticipate working 6 days per week averaging 10-12 hours per day.  The extern would be treated as part of our team and expected to help with procedures and treatment after they have been trained.

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info):

We offer a room in our house at no cost. If the extern would like different accommodations there are a variety of hotels and other short term stay options available at their own cost in nearby Lawrence KS.
