We provide the opportunity to work as a small animal general practitioner. The student will be directly supervised by a veterinarian and will be able to examine and work-up clinical cases. The student will have the option to discuss cases or disease processes in-depth at the end of each day. The student can assist in surgical and dental procedures.
We are a fully-equipped small animal general practice with digital radiography, ultrasound, surgical laser, and monitoring equipment.
The student is expected to work Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm. The amount of involvement is dictated by the student, so whether they want to focus on technical skills (catheter placement, blood draws, etc) or clinical skills (working-up a case, interpreting bloodwork), we can accommodate that. I like the students to be involved as much as possible rather than just shadowing.
