Description of Elective Experience:
Our student interns are paired with a DVM each shift they are in the hospital. They are able to observe and have their hands on the day to day tasks in the hospital. Students are able to shadow in appointments, surgery, dentistry and treatment.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
The students have access to veterinary literature as well as online periodicals for reference. All materials and equipment within the hospital are available for students to use.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
The hours a student would like to work is completely up to the individual and what is required by the school. Students are able to intern with us Monday-Saturday. There are several opportunities for shadowing as well as hands on education. Students are paired with a DVM each day.
