Description of Elective Experience: 

The practice consists of 7 DVM's working in a diverse environment; students may preview the day's schedule and choose the experiences they wish to be involved with. The practice is 40% commercial kennel, 25% pet practice, 35% large animal with a very heavy regulatory and surgical case load in all areas.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

7 DVMs, 11 Techs, fully equipped lab, multiple ultrasounds, endoscope, ditital x-ray,VIN, library, Cold Laser

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

Students are expected to be "on call" with the evening technician to assist with ER and evening treatments.  The on-call doctor will call in the student for cases of interest.

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info): 

The intern house adjacent to the practice is furnished and has 2 bedrooms, full bath and a kitchen.  It is available free of charge and is relatively pet friendly; if traveling with a pet, we may ask the dog be boarded at no charge in the clinic during the day.
