Description of Elective Experience:
Students will rotate through the various specialties observing specialty consultations and procedures. Externs will be attending hospital wide morning rounds as well as the opportunity to attend 1 hour didactic weekly lectures and/or journal club. Some primary experience can be gained in the ER if on that rotation.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
50-60 hours a week shadowing specialists and ER doctors, M-F 7:30a to 6p. Students may perform skill/procedures under the guidance of ER doctors or Critical Care Specialists if the opportunity presents itself. Externs will be attending hospital wide morning rounds as well as the opportunity to attend 1 hour didactic weekly lectures and/or journal club
