Description of Elective Experience: 

General Small Animal practice with emphasis on.  quality care with personal attention . Preventative care as well as medical appointments.  We perform routine and many other soft tissue surgeries We see all types of medical and surgical cases that the majority of our clients are willing to work up fully.  The student will be fully engaged with cases, patient care, hands on treatment under the supervision of one of our DVMs.  We have an experienced staff of registered technicians who also will help the student through day to day activities.  

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

3 DVMs to mentor the student, 5 registered technicians and 2 assistants to share their experience and knowledge.  In house lab, digital radiology-both general and dental, ultrasound, Companion Therapy laser, high speed dental unit, and other routine diagnostic tools

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

Students are expected to be on time -hours will be worked out as expected by the university and to fit the student’s availability. Questions are welcomed as well as collaborations on cases.  Hands on experience as student is willing and ready . We are there to mentor and show the student how daily life is for the general practitioner.
