Description of Elective Experience: 

Large animal, on-farm, as well as some in clinic experience-physical and lameness exams, herd health plans, pregnancy checks, vaccinations, preventative care, diagnosis, pain management, addressing client and/or patient concerns, as needed, as well as other services, including emergencies

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

Our clinic has 3 veterinarians, 3 assistants/techs, 2 office assistants. We have x-ray, dentistry, gastroscopy, endoscopy, ultrasound, and some lab equipment. We're mostly mobile, on-farm, but do offer in-clinic services.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

Students are expected to anticipate an 8 hour work day, with the possibility of a much longer day based on client's needs. Students are allowed to participate as much as they feel comfortable, as long as it is safe for all involved. Ask questions, be prepared for potentially harsh working environments, as we do not typically cancel appointment due to weather.

Housing can be provided on site, by supervisors discretion.
