Description of Elective Experience:
Student will be able to shadow our Neurology team in each aspect of the service including appointments, surgery, xray and treatments.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
Our Hospital is eqipped with state of the art technologies including a 64 slice CT scanner, MRI, and digital radiographs, as well as a Neurology suite and Neurosurgery OR. Our board certified Neurologists work cohesively with a team of licensed veterinary techinicians and enjoy teaching about the field.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
The Neurology team(s) work 40 hours weeks consisting of four 10 hour days or five 8 hour days. As a standard we invite students in to shadow our doctors, however, it is at the doctors discretion if they would like the student to participate in treatments or restraint.
