The great majority of the case load envolves ambulatory lameness examinations, medicine cases, reproductive cases, and field surgery.  The participation level of the student will depend upon their clinical skills and clients willingness to allow student participation. There will be assigned reading and review of pertinent journal articles relevent to observed cases.  There will be didactic interaction with regard to management of lameness, field emergencies, diagnostic imaging, wound healing, etc.
