Description of Elective Experience:
Students will have the opportunity to work along veterinarians in a cattle practice in Southern Idaho. Daily herd checks on large scale western dairies of upto 10,000 cows will allow students to palpate over 300 cows per day. Exposure to individualized sick cows, obstetrical work, and emergency work will also be performed. Students will also have the opporturnity to assist in embryo production via ova pick up and implantation.

Two full time veterinarians
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Students will be expected to work Monday-Friday during working hours (typically 6:00 am- 5:00 pm) and should be willing to go on after hours calls as needed

A room will be provided in one of the vetrinarian's home with all food provided. No pets allowed
