Description of Elective Experience:
100% dairy practice specializing in all aspects of large dairy herd health. Focus in reproductive management, milk production and mastitis control, surgery and obstetrical cases.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
Practice environment includes extern working with 18 accredited veterinarians with all equipment and instruments needed to work professionally and ethically.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Students will always be monitored and supervised throughout the day. Most work days will be approximately 10-12 hours/day. Externs will be fully immersed in the daily responsibilities that veterinarians experience in this line of practice.
