We are a 7 doctor, mixed animal clinic in Southwest Oklahoma that offers emergency surgeries for our clients. We have doctors that range from new graduates to doctors with 40 years of experience. We are approximately 50/50 on small and large animal. On the large animal side, we offer farm calls as well as in clinic services. During the fall months, we will be busy pregnancy checking. During the spring months, we see a large amount of dystocias. We offer many services. Feet work, BSEs, AI, trich tests and routine cattle work are all part of a typical day. We also see a fair amount of equine where we do everything from lameness exams to reproductive work. On the small animal side, we perform a variety of surgeries including luxated patella and ACL repairs. Besides dogs and cats, we occasionally get to see some exotics.
We are a 7 doctor practice with registered small animal veterinary technicians and large animal technicians. On the large animal side, we have a state of the art tilt chute for cattle. We have two wireless, portable ultrasounds and 2 in-clinic ultrasounds with a variety of probes. We have an equine barn with stocks and pens. We have 2 sets of equine dental drills and speculums. We also run in-house coggins and BVD tests. On the small animal side, we have an ultrasound and radiograph machine. We have two endoscopes that can also be used on the large animal side. We also run in house blood work.
Doctor hours are 8:00-5:30 Monday through Friday with lunch from 12-1:30. Emergency services are after hours and it is up to the student if they would like to help out with these. We expect the student to lend a helping hand and be willing to learn. Depending on comfort level and effort will determine what the student is permitted to do. In the past, we have had students perform and/or assist with surgeries, help out with seeing appointments and get more comfortable pregnancy checking.
