Description of Elective Experience:
Student will be accompaning veterianrians to farm calls for horses and livestock.Also observing and assisting with surgiers.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
We have 3 large animal veterinarians, 3 small aniaml veternarians with 12 veterinary technicians. We have 3 DR Xray systems, 3 ultrasound units. A 3 meter gastroscope and 2 meter endoscope. Multiple anesthesia monitors, waterblankets, Pulse oximeters, fluid pumps and surgical packs.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Student is responsible for keeping track of their hours. We are open Monday thru Saturday. They are available to shadow any day we are open and be available for after hours/ weekend holidays. Student will be responsible to research the night prior to cases the next day.
