Description of Elective Experience:
Student will be rotating through the different services of our specialty hospital being paired with a specialist for each day including Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, Surgery Emergency Medicine and Ophthalmology. Our hospital is a private practice tertiary referral hospital.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
We routinely perform abdominal ultrasounds, flexible and rigid endoscopy, cataract surgery, soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, neurologic surgery, etc.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Engage in questions, scrub into procedures, be kind and courteous to staff and clients, be prepared for case-based rounds
Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info):
Housing can be available if needed at one of the clinicians' homes.
