Description of Elective Experience:
Work side by side with Doctor during all exams, emergencies and surgeries. Discuss each case/diagnosis/treatment with doctors on staff. Client interaction for history and treatment plans. Work with technicians and assistants during treatments and estimate creation. Work to understand workings of practice from scheduling to medical care.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
In clinic 40 hours per week under the supervision of doctor, Monday - Friday. After hours research/reading on challenging cases or areas that doctor feels need more understanding. Expected to be engaged, eager to jump in and be a part of a medical team providing compassionate, exemplary care.
