Description of Elective Experience:
Small animal medicine outpatient clinics. Taking history, examination, diagnosis, proposed treatment.
Xray & ultrasound imaging techniques. Dentistry x-ray, prophylaxis, diagnosis & proposed treatment.
Surgery observation & supervised experience.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
Digital D-R.x-ray, & ultrasound. Dental x-ray, digital C.R.processing. Chemistry analyzer. Computerized veterinary software with 8 work-stations.
2 full time DVM's & 1 part time DVM, & 8 staff members.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
The student will be responsible for shadowing each veterinarian and RVT in each of the aforementioned areas of surgery & diagnostic equipment.
On hand experience will be encouraged where & when appropriate.
Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info):
The student will have a family home to use.
