Description of Elective Experience: 

Students are encouraged to be interactive - history taking, physical exams, case rounds, and review of diagnostics with assigned clinicians. 

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

Animal Emergency and Referral Center of Minnesota has 51 veterinarians that make up our 11 specialties.  Our Specialty Veterinarians are board certified.  Our facility features multiple floors that have radiology, MRI, internal laboratory, and a Stat Lab. We also have a Training Department and a Social Work on staff.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

Students are encouraged to be interactive - history taking, physical exams, case rounds, and review of diagnostics with assigned clinicians.   Students are scheduled 40 hours/per week. Normally they are scheduled Monday - Friday, but the schedule is based on the specialty they work with.
