Description of Elective Experience:
Student will be working one on one with an emergency doctor to see cases throughout their shift. They will have opportunities for direct client communication, patient handling, physical exams, record keeping, diagnostic interpretation, surgeries, technical work, and more.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Student will have a doctor dedicated to supervising them during each shift. Typical schedule is 3 weekdays and 2 weekend days per week (5 days total/week). 10 hour days (8a-6p or 4p-2a). Charts will be completed during their shift. No work is expected outside of scheduled shifts.
