Description of Elective Experience:
Observe and assist in daily Veterinary appointments and procedures. Occassional opportunity to perform spays/neuters on shelter animals. Vets here have a special interest in dentistry, surgery (orthopedics and soft tissue), rescue work, and exotic pets.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
Observe and assist in appointments, surgery, and client education. We see dogs, cats, pocket pets, reptiles, pet pigs, and some birds.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
M-F 8-7, Sa 8-4, Su 10-4. Vets are available during all of these hours to mentor. Student hours are flexible.
