Will perform physical exams; perform medical, surgical and dental procedures under the supervision of a veterinarian. Help develop a plan of action based on exam, interpretation of lab reports, EKG's and or Radiographs. Provide accurate updates on client records. The student will be giving SQ, IM and IV injections and be familiar with placing IV catheters and properly care for them. Can prepare a patient for surgery, administer anesthesia and monitor patient during surgery and recovery.
Students will be working under the supervision of 2 Veterinarians, 1 RVT and several Vet Assistants. We have Ultrasound, Radiology, Dental Suite and a new surgery suite.
Monday-Friday; 8:00-5:00. No after hour work or weekends. Student will have full staff support and can shadow while moving quickly to more hands-on work under staff supervision.
