Animal Urgent Care Center, WV

Description of Elective Experience: 

Animal Urgent Care is an established general practice that also does evening emergency hours. We cover the Tri-Sta areas West Virginia, Ohio and PA. As a Veterinary student you will actively participating in a variety of cases from wellness exams and vaccinations to abscesses, HBC's, blocked cats, proptosed eyes and miscellaneous dog fight injuries. We deal with a limited number of avian & exotic patients, as well.

Fully staffed with certified technicians on board. 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

Student will be following Dr's schedule which may vary from week to week.  Completing at least a 45 hr week.  This will include 3 week days/evenings and all weekends.  Student's will observe surgery and work on blood draws, catheters, lab and digital radiographic images techniques .  Depending on the cases and students ability we will allow a more hands participation in cases.

Onsite sleeping room with shower and small kitchen.  TV and Internet available!
