Description of Elective Experience:
An extern at Apple Valley Veterinarians will work alongside a doctor in the care of our patients. This would include performing physical exams, discussing diagnostic and treatment plans, and client communications. Further experience would include assisting with surgeries, radiology, and other procedures.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
- Full staff of receptionists and veterinary assistants
- Digital radiography, dental radiography, full surgical suite, in-house lab
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Supporting all doctors' activities typically from 9am to 6pm, 5 days/week.
