An ASPCA APCC Externship provides fourth-year veterinary students with clinical toxicology experience. During your two-week externship, you'll listen to live toxicology consultation calls and attend DVM rounds and lectures. We'll also introduce you to critical analysis of journal articles and offer you a small research project with the opportunity to pursue publication of the results. This program is completely remote and can be done anywhere in the United States.
For students not in the area of the Midwest Office (Urbana, Illinois), all necessary equipment will be shipped to you directly prior to the start of your externship. Students local to the Midwest Office will be asked to pick up equipment at the Midwest Office prior to the start of your externship.
We accommodate externs for 2 weeks.
Participate in critical analysis of journal articles, including a research paper featuring information from the APCC database.
Experience dynamic lectures on various toxicology subjects.
This externship is 100% remote, open to students attending vet school in the United States, and can be completed anywhere with a high speed internet connection.
