Description of Elective Experience:
A day in the life of a general mixed animal veterinarian. Follow veterinarians for exam, client communications, making of diagnostic/treatment plan and surgery where applicable.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
5 Licensed Veterinarians; oppourtunity for exotic and farm animal medicine and surgery experience; in house lab equipment, radiographs, ultrasound, laser therapy, surgery, laser surgery
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Student is expected to spend 8-10 hours per day for 5 work days and a 1/2 day on Saturday. Student will shadow veterinarians with some supervised hands on experiences.
