Description of Elective Experience: 

The student will gain the experience and knowledge of a fast paced progressive 2 doctor general practice. We are open 6 days a week, fully booked with wellness, illness and surgical appointments. We promote wellness preventative medicine by doing thorough evaluations with recommendations of wellness blood work for most appointments. The student will shadow our doctors or actively participate in the appointments including surgery.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

We are staffed as best as possible and looking for additional employees. Each doctor has an assistant and technician assigned to them for appointments and surgery. We have support staff as treatment technicians and assistants. We have a separate suite for surgery and dental, digital standard x-ray and dental x-ray, ultrasound machine, cold therapeutic laser and in house blood machines.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

The student responsibility will be based  on externship requirements. Students are expected to be on time for their schedule days and conduct themselves in a professional manner. Students will be allowed to practice skills under direct supervision of the veterinarian on staff, including but not limited to venipuncture, anesthesia, surgical assisting and examinations.
