Bloomsburg Veterinary Hospital, Inc is a Small Animal hospital that offers Veterinary Students the opportunity to shadow our Veterinarians. This experience will include Wellness & Medical Appointments, Dentistry, Routine Surgeries such as Canine Ovariohysterectomies and Castrations as well as Feline Ovariohysterectomies, Castrations and Declaws. There are also opportunities to shadow in non-routine surgeries such as lumpectomies, exploratories, cystotomies and others.
Bloomsburg Veterinary Hospital currently has 10 veterinairians on staff as well as 30 support team members. We are AAHA accredited and continue to provide the best care to our clients and patients. We offer a full, well-stocked pharmacy and in-house Idexx laboratory equipment. The in-house laboratory equipment includes: an Idexx Sedivue Dx, Vetlab UA, Catalyst Dx, Catalyst One, Procyte Dx and several SnapPros. We offer digital radiographs for our medical patients as well as for dentistry. We have a state-of the -art Ultrasound Machine for use. We currently have 5 Canine specific exam rooms and 3 Feline specific exam rooms. We also have a Feline-Friendly waiting area for our Feline patients. Our entire staff is Fear Free certified and we strive to continue to place protocols into effect to help reduce the fear, stress and anxiety of our patients.
During an externship with our company, we will provide a specific schedule for the student. Students will have the ability to shadow a number of our experienced veterinarians in appointments, surgery and dentistry. The entire Veterinarian team and Management team is available to answer any questions the student may have prior to, during, or after completion of their externship.
