Students will shadow clinicians throughout their day, including participating in consults, client communications, treatments and procedures, case discussions and treatment decisions.
BluePearl Overland Park is a 24 hour Specialty & Emergency facility housing Internal Medicine, Neurology, Cardiology, Oncology, Surgery & ECC. We have digital radiography, CT & MRI, as well as 4 state of the art surgery suites, a C-Arm and a brand new ICU, isolation ward, cat ward & outpatient ward.
Schedules will vary based on the service(s) that the student has elected to shadow, but daytime hours during the weekday are preferred. Early evening hours will also be available to shadow the ER service. ER is a 24hr service, but students receive the best experience during the day with multiple departments running together. Students will be allowed to handle patients and participate in hands on treatments at the discretion of the clinician(s).
