Student is to ride with a doctor every day and participate in all aspects of practice:  Repro (herd checks), surgery, medicine, consults, emergency duty at night. Students are free to use any/all clinic equipment with supervision.  Portable ultrasound, therapy laser, in-clinic chute/corral, equine stocks, portable x-ray and power float. We have 7 CVT's, 3 client care specialists and a practice manager.  There are 3.5 small animal doctors and 4 large animal doctors. We provide Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy and Veterinary Massage and Rehabilitation Therapy.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:

Students will put in 40+ hours per week. All activities are supervised and hands on participation is encouraged. Work days will be Mon-Fri with half Saturdays. Students are encouraged to ride on emergency night calls. Sundays are up to the student. We have no problems with students taking time off for job interviews, tests or family issues.

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info):

There is a small apartment in the clinic for students, complete with bathroom.  Refrigerator and microwave located in staff lounge. Lunch is usually provided but we suggest the student bring "microwavable" meals for some suppers.  Bedding and towels provided plus use of washer and dryer. Pets are welcome.  There is no cost.
