Description of Elective Experience:
Students will shadow all vets in rooms, surgeries, treatments and rounds with doctors.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
Broward Avian & Exotic is a four doctor practice with five technicians. The practice includes an endoscope, ultrasound, radiograph, full lab and surgical suite.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
The clinic is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8a-6p. Tuesdays and Thursdays the clinic is open from 8a-8p and surgeries are performed. We expect students to be presnt Monday-Friday during normal business hours. Mostly shadowing with the opportunity of some hands on experiences.
