Canyon Pet Hospital is an 8 doctor, AAHA accredited small animal hospital. The extern will be exposed
to every aspect of small animal medicine from general practice, surgery, diagnostics, and emergency medicine.
There will also be an opportunity to practice surgical skills on shelter animals.
We have 8 doctors and a full support staff including multiple CVT's. All the doctors
are well versed in teching and guiding students as well as new graduates. We have
ultrasound, endoscopy, digital x-rays, full anesthetic monitoring, and in-house blood
machines
Since we are open all the time with many different doctors with manyh different interests the extern will schedule their own
hours based on their specific interests.
On the first day the schedule is set for the entire externship. It typically is a 40 hour/week schedule that can
include days, nights, weekends.
