Description of Elective Experience: 

Truly mixed animal rural practice with high quality individual animal and herd medicine.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

Four veterinarians with varied levels of experience as well as excellent support staff of licensed technicians.  2 mobile units for farm animals including ultrasound and power floats.  Clinic is equipped with in house blood work, digital radiography including dental, modern ultrasound.  Practice historically dairy, but over the last 20 years of growth, small animals and companion farm animals including equine have given a balance to make every day unique.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

Students are expected to shadow from 7:30 to 5:30 4 days a week plus 25% of emergency hours on call.  Students will practice all skills except small animal surgery.

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info): 

The practice can make arrangements for students to have housing at a local motel or apartment.   It is not pet friendly and costs will be covered by the practice.
