Description of Elective Experience:
Shadowing appointments, surgeries with doctors and interpreting xrays. Some animal handling.
Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.:
Digital xray and dental xray machines. Oxygen cage, Doppler monitoring, dental machine, cold laser.
5 veterinary technicians, 10 veterinary assistants, practice owner and two associates.
Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?:
Since the practice is open 7 days a week, the student can set their own schedule as long as they work 40 hours. There are three veterinarians providing ample shadowing and actual support.
