Access to full in-house laboratory including coags, istat, and imagyst cytology. ER doctors frequently use point-of-care ultrasonography to aid in work-up and diagnosis. We have an in-house library with common reference materials. Staff is RECOVER certified.
Students will be scheduled on first and second shift blocks. Student is to let scheduler know if they have interested in 3rd shift/overnight shifts, but these will not be expected to be scheduled. First shift is typically 7a-7p, second shift 2p-2a.
We try to allow hands-on experience with wound care, minor procedures, scrubbing in and assisting with surgery as caseload and student comfortability allows.
