Description of Elective Experience: 

Chester Veterinary Services, LLC operates small animal general medicine that includes preventative medicine, surgery and dentistry. As an elective, any student would observe and have the opportunity to perform routine exams, injections, assist with surgery and be encouraged to evaluate sick patients and complete diagnostics then develop a treatment plan while being overseen by a senior veterinarian.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

Our office offers in house lab work with Idexx Procyte, Catalyst and Sedivue machines, digital radiographs, cold laser therapy, dentistry, small animal surgery and more. 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

Our office is open Monday & Tuesday 8:00am - 5:00pm; Wednesday 8:00am - 3:30pm; Thursday 8:00am - 7:00pm. We are closed on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays. The student is expected to arrive on time and prepared for the workday and stay until necessary tasks are completed.
