Cleveland Equine Clinic

Description of Elective Experience: 

To provide students with equine clinical case experiences a wide variety of cases including routine health care, extensive lameness case evaluation, breeding, and outpatient/inpatient surgical and medical cases. State of the art facility as well as diagnostic modalities including MRI, digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy, gastroscopy, and arthroscopy.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.: 

Complete equine library with all basic texts and several equine publications.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?: 

1. Students are expected to show up on time and be prepared for full work days that may be onsite at the clinic or out in the field.

2. Students are expected to participate in history taking, medical record keeping, and discharge procedures as well as assist in diagnostic and treatment procedures.

On-site housing is available on a first come, first served basis. Housing is limited and may already be occupied. Contact us to make arrangements.
